Abstract

The purpose of this article is to investigate the factors affecting the social identity of young people. This article was conducted in a survey manner and the necessary information was collected by a questionnaire from a sample of 400 people, among the youth of all walks of life (students) of Kabul University. In this study, Henry Tajfel's theory is used to explain the social identity of young people.


     The research results show that among all the hypothesis used in this research, variables such as ethnicity, type of religion, self-satisfaction and traditional lifestyle with all dimensions of social identity, variables such as social capital (social trust), modern lifestyle and trust with three types of dimensions of social identity, variables such as gender, social capital (trust in institutions) with two types of dimensions of social identity and variables of age, class identity, father's education, mother's education, social capital, social participation and media consumption Foreigners have had a significant relationship with one of the dimensions of social identity.
