Review & Editorial Process
JSS follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence. Submitted papers undergo evaluation by independent referees or members of the Editorial Board who are subject matter experts in the respective fields. The review process assesses the scientific significance, novelty, and alignment of the submitted work with the journal's scope and publication ethics.
Upon completion of the review process, a paper may be rejected, returned to the author(s) for revisions, or accepted for publication. Authors bear the primary responsibility for the content and integrity of their work. Editors may request authors to provide additional elaboration or technical details when deemed necessary.
The editorial team may perform scientific editing to ensure compliance with the journal's formatting and writing standards, without compromising the original content or findings. The inclusion of visual elements, such as pictures and graphs, is subject to editorial discretion to maintain an optimal balance and relevance within the paper's content.
Regardless of the format, all materials are held to ethical standards concerning authorship and integrity. When research processes, results, or data collections involve the use of images, authors must provide accurate descriptions of the image origins.
The acceptance and publication of an article are contingent upon the decision of the journal's Editor, guided by the review reports received from the peer reviewers.
Publication Workflow
- Authors are required to submit a complete manuscript without author or institutional details, accompanied by a separate title page containing the authors' information and affiliations.
- The Editor/Manager assigns the anonymized manuscript to an Editorial Board member for an initial desk review. The journal utilizes an Open Journal System for efficient management.
- The Editorial Board member sends the article to the Editor after the desk review and initial screening.
- The Editor sends the articles that successfully clear the desk review to two reviewers, including national and international experts, for peer review.
- Reviewers receive notifications via email and the Open Journal System.
- Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the Editor determines whether the article is acceptable for publication. If positive reviews are received, the article proceeds to the copy-editing stage; otherwise, it is returned to the author(s) for revisions.
- Copy editing involves further proofreading and formatting corrections to ensure the article's compliance with the journal's standards.
- Upon completion of the copy-editing process, the Editor initiates the production and publication stages. A PDF version of the article, including the abstract and authors' affiliations, is uploaded to the Open Journal System for publication.
