Abstract

This study examines the challenges of grape packaging in Zabul Province and proposes solutions, supported by an economic analysis. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through questionnaires administered to grape orchard owners and relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that traditional packaging methods cause 17.9% product spoilage, while 53.5% of respondents identified improper packaging as a major factor in grape deterioration. Key challenges include the lack of modern packaging machinery and insufficient government support. The study recommends reducing packaging material costs, establishing local production facilities, strengthening government support, and improving farmers’ awareness of standardized packaging practices to minimize losses and enhance economic returns.
