Abstract

This study explores the challenges faced by Parwan University lecturers during the COVID-19 outbreak's transition to distance education. Employing a descriptive research approach, the investigation entailed surveying 66 lecturers to discern the obstacles associated with distance teaching. A structured questionnaire facilitated data collection through purposeful sampling, with subsequent data analysis performed using SPSS software. The research outcomes unveil a comprehensive account of the primary challenges encountered by Parwan University lecturers during the COVID-19-induced shift to distance education. These challenges are presented in seven tables, detailing the severity of each obstacle. In conclusion, the study offers a series of recommendations to the Ministry of Higher Education in Afghanistan and other relevant stakeholders, aiming to address and mitigate these challenges and improve the quality of distance education during unprecedented circumstances.
