Abstract

While numerous studies have explored developmental issues in Afghanistan, there is a notable dearth of information pertaining to improvements in the education sector. This study employs a combination of field surveys and literature reviews to collect and analyze data. The findings highlight significant challenges within the higher education sector, including budgetary constraints, inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of qualified academic staff, insufficient equipment, and unstable power and internet services. The study suggests that implementing measures such as gaining financial autonomy, conducting curriculum reviews, and capacity-building programs can partially address these challenges and improve the current state of Afghanistan's higher education system.
