Abstract

Many thinkers have contemplated the position and nature of humans; one of them is Muhammad Iqbal Lahori. This article aims to understand the place of humans and their characteristics in the thought of Iqbal Lahori. Iqbal Lahori is one of the prominent contemporary thinkers of the Islamic world who introduced the rich Islamic culture to the modern world by emphasizing the sublime position of humans and their mission in the universe. He founded a new perspective of humanity based on the foundations of Quranic principles and the lofty position of humans. This modern Islamic philosopher believes that humans, as the goal of all the currents of the creation of the universe, whose thoughts are the manifestation of the existence of the world of secrets and mysteries, can, through self-awareness and self-discovery as ideal and perfect human beings, make their existence a mirror of divine attributes and gain knowledge about the secrets of creation. In Iqbal's thought, human beings and, most importantly, perfect human beings are considered the axis of the universe.
