Abstract

This article aims to analyze the role of ethics and rationality in creating and sustaining lasting peace through the lens of Immanuel Kant's political philosophy. In Kant’s philosophical framework, moral development and the rationalization of human behavior play a crucial role not only in achieving lasting peace but also in fostering empathy, mutual understanding, unity, and, more broadly, the balance of interests and the flourishing of human potential. Kant consistently emphasized the necessity of aligning politics with moral and rational principles. By introducing the theory of moral duty, Kant advocates that individuals should act in a way that treats humanity as an end in itself, both in themselves and in others. Such behavior discourages actions that undermine human dignity and prohibits violence and humiliation. Instead, it fosters a society built on peace and harmonious coexistence.
