Abstract

Job satisfaction is an important factor in increasing employee motivation, commitment, efficiency, and the quality of organizational performance. Given the essential role of Ministry of Public Health employees in providing health services, examining their level of job satisfaction and identifying its dimensions is particularly important. This study examined and assessed the level of job satisfaction among employees of the Ministry of Public Health. This study is descriptive-survey in nature and applied in purpose. The statistical population consisted of 2,000 employees of the Ministry of Public Health, from whom 322 participants were selected based on the Cochran formula. Data were collected using the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire, which consists of 19 items across six dimensions: payment system, job type, advancement opportunities, organizational climate, leadership style, and physical working conditions. The collected data were analyzed using statistical methods. The findings showed that employees' mean job satisfaction score was 59.57, which was moderate compared with the average benchmark but significantly below the desired level. Furthermore, all examined dimensions were assessed as being below the desired level. Based on the findings, improving the payment system, providing fair opportunities for career advancement, strengthening leadership style, improving the organizational climate, and providing appropriate physical working conditions can increase employees' job satisfaction.
